Brief Synopsis of the Night's Investigation
Ouija Board - (Upstairs) - Contact with a female spirit, 14 years of age.
- (Bar) - 67 year old man, Name: A, nickname: Casey, Year: 1925
- (Bar) - Female spirit, Name: Olivia, 40 years of age.
Noises Heard: (Upstairs) - Door slamming (twice)
(Upstairs) - Knocking and tapping
(Cellar) - Unexplained noises
Table Tipping: (Upstairs) - Slight vibration
Dowsing Rods: (Upstairs) - Movement on responding to questions asked
(Upstairs) - Contact with female spirit, 14 years of age
(Bar) - 60 year old man, past landlord of pub

Below is a more in depth report of the night's investigation
The team began their investigation upstairs. Bedroom 4 is reputed to be the most haunted of all the rooms situated upstairs, however a camcorder was set up in bedroom 6 to capture any activity. Temperature readings were not taken, as the place was very hot.
The investigation started with the use of the dowsing rods. Jim called out to any spirit present to come forward and speak to them. Both Stewart and Jim were holding dowsing rods and simultaneous the rod's moved and crossed themselves. Jim asked the spirit to point the rods in the direction that he/she was standing. In response to his question, one rod swung round and pointed behind him. He then asked "Is there more than one spirit person here?
The rods crossed themeselves. (This indicates "Yes")
Question: "How many spirits are here with us?" Jim then began to count, and the rods crossed themselves again on the number 2.
Jim then asked "Using Stewart's rods, please show us where you are standing. The rods did not move.
Question: "Are you behind Jane?" The rods did not move.
Jim called out again, asking the spirit to show where they were. The rods then began to moved towards a small door which was situated within the room. He then asked for them to confirm if they were near the small door. The rod's gave a very strong movement indicated "yes". Finally he asked "if they would talk to them if they used the ouija board". Once again the movement of the rod's showed "yes".
The team then moved to the ouija board. Jim began to call out to the spirits. Mac could feel that the glass was trying to move and then the glass took up it's task and began to move across the board.
Question: "Are you a male?" No Answer
Question: "Are you a female?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "Could you give us the first initial of your first name?" No Answer
Question: "Can you spell your name?" Answer: "No"
Question: "Do you know how old you are?" Answer: "14"
Question: "Can you confirm you are 14 years old?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "Are you happy here?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "Do you want to stay here?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "Do you know what year it was when you passed over to spirit world?" Answer: The glass went to 4, 8, 9 but nothing was making sense. Immediately after this Mac believe that she felt something pass in front of her. The questioning then continued:
Question: "Did you pass away in the 1900's?" Answer: "No"
Question: "Was it in the 1800's? Answer: "Goodbye"
As the glass moved to the sign "Goodbye" the team heard what sounded like a door slam along the hallway. This was checked, but no was around and nothing else could be found. Returning to the board, Jim asked again for the young girl to return, but there was still no movement from glass. They continued to call out, and after a short time the glass began to move around the board.
Question: "Is this the young girl?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "Was it you who made the door slam?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "Could you do something else, like touch someone in the room?" No Answer
Question: "Could you move the door again?" No Answer
Question: "Are you alone?" Answer: "No"
Question: "Would they like to come and talk with us?" No Answer
Question: "Is your name ANN?" Jim said he was getting a name through that sounding like Ann, but there was no answer from the girl.
It was then decided to take a break from the board and to attempt table tipping. A slight vibration was felt, but nothing more came from this experiment. Just minutes before leaving the table another bang could be heard, again appearing to come directly from the hallway. It was that loud and unexpected the everyone around the table jumped. It could have been someone downstairs, but after calling out and a brief search the team concluded there was no one around.
Following the table tipping, Jim and Stewart took it in turns to go into the loft area behind the little door in the room, but nothing occurred to either team member. The dowsing rods were then used again, in another attempt to contact any spirits. Immediate upon taking up the rod's, Stewart had movement. Jim asked out; if it was the young girl again and the rod's moved to "no".
Question: "Are you a male?" No Answer received.
Question: "Are you a boy?" Answer: "No"
Question: "Are you an adult?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "Can you talk to us?" Answer: "Yes" The rod's produced a very strong movement in reply.
Question: "Is this the young girl again?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "Can you make a noise outside the room, or touch someone?" Answer: "Yes" , but nothing occurred.
Question: "Please can you make a noise for us?" A slight knock was heard by everyone.
Question: "Are you here with us?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "Is it the young girl that is making the noise? Answer: "No"
Question: "Whoever is making the noise can you come forward and show yourself, or make another noise?" Mac and Jim then heard another noise.
Question: "Please move the rod's to show where you are?" The rod's then pointed towards Alison.
Question: "Can you please touch Alison if you are standing by her?" Nothing happened.
Jim told the group that he could see what appeared to be an old man, who was wearing what looked like a leather apron. He was unsure what this attire meant or who the man was, and what his connection was to the place. Mac continued calling out to the spirit, asking then to walk along the hallway, or to make a noise. The group did hear tapping and creaking sounds, but were unable to determine where they were coming from. Some of the group felt cold in places, seemingly like a draft, but this was very strange considering the room was so hot.
Before moving on to downstairs, the group moved to the top of the landing and called out. Several taps and bangs were heard, but nothing that could positively distinguish as being paranormal.
BAR AREA
As the team moved into the bar area, Jim began to pick up on a lady that walked around - she wasn't happy. From her appearance, Jim believed that she could have been a house keeper. Her clothes were very plain and were of the colour of either grey or a dirty white.
Jane started with the dowsing rods and asked if any spirit beings were there. The rod's moved to "Yes"
Question: "Are you standing beside me?" Answer: "Yes". Jane felt very cold to the left side of her body.
Question: "Are you a male?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "How old are you?" Jane counted in 10's and when she reached 60, the rod's indicated "Yes"
Question: "Did you use to work here?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "Will you talk with us tonight?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "Can you tell us how long ago you worked here?" Again Jane counted in 10 's and the rod's moved at 40.
Question: "Was this still a pub?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "Were you the landlord here?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "Did you pass away here?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "Are you happy here?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "Are there other spirits here with you?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "Is there a lady that walks around here?" Answer: "Yes". The movement from the rod's were very strong regarding this answer.
Question: "Is this lady connected to you?" Answer: "No"
Question: "Was she here before you?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "Could you show yourself to us?" There was no response from the rod's.
Question: "Could you make a noise?" Answer: "Yes"
Jane asked again "Are you still standing next to me?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "Would you talk to us if we use the ouija board?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "How many other spirits are with you?" The rod's moved on the number 4.
The team then sat down to the board. Jim began to ask for any spirits to make contact with us, by moving the glass. They noticed then how suddenly the area became cold. Mac asked Jim if he by chance, saw anyone behind her, he was unsure and then took a photo. When checked the photo showed an alleged orb behind her. (This can be seen in the photo's below.) The ouija board investigation continued by asking out to the spirits, and after a short time the glass moved to "Yes".
Question: "Are you the man that spoke to Jane?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "Could you give us the letter of your first name?" Answer: "K"
Question: "Can you give us the second letter?" Answer: "E"
Question: "Is you name Ken?" Answer: "No"
Jim was then given the name Casey, and he asked the man if this was his name. Answer: "Yes"
Jim didn't think this was right somehow so asked the spirit man "Is this your nickname?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "Can you tell us how old you are?" Answer: "67"
Question: "Are you the landlord?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "How long ago did you live here as the landlord?" Answer: "1925"
Question: "When did you pass over?" No response
Question: "Were you living here when you passed over?" No response
Question: "Do you have a message you would like to give us? No response
Question: "How did you die?" Answer: "Fall"
Question: "Did you fall down the stairs here at the pub?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "Will anyone else talk to us?" Answer: "No"
Question: "Is this to do with the lady that is here?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "Are we in danger from her?" No reply
Question: "Is she not very friendly?" Answer: "No"
Jim the asked "Is she behind me?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "Is there anyone else that will talk to us?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "Are you a male?" Answer: "No"
Jim then started to prod Stewart on his arm and kept saying to him 10/6, 10/6. He then informed the group that it ment ten shillings and sixpense. He felt that the woman coming through was either a madam or perhaps a prostitute.
Mac the asked the spirit to spell out her name. The glass went to O and then to I. After these two letters the glass was going to random letters and not making any sense.
Question: "Is you name an English name?" Answer: "Yes"
Jim asked "Is you name Olivia?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "Are you happy here?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "Do you want to go to the light?" Answer: "No"
Question: "Are you trapped here?" Answer: "No"
Jim said she looked like she was in her forty's and she liked bright colours. This was confirmed via the use of the board.
Question: "Did you die of natural causes?" Answer: "No"
Question: "Were you murdered?" Answer: "No"
Question: "Was it war times?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "Do you know of the other lady that walks around here?" No answer given.
Question: "Are you frightened of her?" Answer: "Yes"
Question: "Why?" No answer given.
Jim then asked the spirit lady "If she liked Stewart?" Answer: "Yes"
Mac then asked "What room would you like him to go to?" Answer: "4"
Question: "Will he be safe on his own?" Answer: "Yes"
Stewart agreed to go back up to room 4. After a while he returned and reported that all had been quite with no activity.
THE CELLAR
After entering the cellar area, Mac began calling out, there were some noises being made in response. Jim expressed a feeling of falling through the hatch and also of not being able to talk.
Further to this no other activities was encountered in the cellar and it was decided by the team end the investigation of this pub. The team were pleased with the result they had obtained during the night and felt there was still much more to be discovered.
