The Priest House - West Hoathly, West Sussex (The Return)
Investigation Date: 1st July 2011
Standing in the beautiful surroundings of a traditional cottage garden on the edge of Ashdown Forest, the Priest House is an early 15th century timber-framed hall-house built as an estate office for the Priory of St. Pancras in Lewes to improve the administration of the Manor of the Rectory of West Hoathly. In 1524 the Priory leased the Rectory Manor to John Browne, a “husbandman” of the parish & The Priest House became a family home.
When Henry VIII seized Lewes Priory’s property the Browne’s Manor was given to Thomas Cromwell. After his disgrace & execution the Manor formed part of the settlement of Anne of Cleves. Following her death, the Brownes paid rent to Queen Mary & then to Elizabeth I. In 1560 the Queen sold the property that had once belonged to Lewes Priory.
The Brownes bought the Manor lands & The Priest House & set about modernising the building. The house was originally an open hall, with a living room & upper chamber on the north end & a service end, with a buttery, pantry & solar, to the south. Large stone chimneys were built to replace the medieval open hearth, which enabled two new rooms to be created upstairs, each with their own fireplace. The original thatched roof was also replaced with Horsham stone.
The house remained in the hands of the Browne family for another hundred years but their fortunes were in decline & in 1695 the house & Manor had to be sold to pay off their debts. The new owner, Mrs. Anna Hooper of Barbados, split the building into two cottages for tenant farmers. For 200 years the house remained in the hands of absentee landlords who did little to maintain it.
In 1905 it was bought by John Godwin King, of Stonelands, West Hoathly. He carefully restored the building & in 1908 opened it to the public, to display his collection of locally gathered artefacts. In 1935 John Godwin King presented The Priest House & its contents to the Sussex Archaeological Society.

The Priest House - Part 2 (The Return)
The Report
SouthWest London Paranormal returned to The Priest House in West Hoathly. This time the sun was still shining when we arrived and both the gardens and the house looked outstanding in this picturesque quintessential English village.
The house itself was bathed in a different glow this time round with the light filtering through the small antique windows. The pleasantness of each room was noticed as base line test and camera equipment were conducted and set up accordingly. However, things were not as they seemed once daylight hours had past and this quaint period house took on a more disturbing and forbidden tone.
The house itself comprises of two rooms downstairs and a further two rooms upstairs. All items within the house are originals, but not necessary originating from the house. It is wonderfully laid out and although compact, it certainly adds to the splendour and mystic surrounding the house.
Each room appears to have activity of some sort contained within it. Strange things have occurred to the team on the two occasions they have visits. Why? Is a question that cannot be answered. To date we have not been able to find any other team who have experienced the goings on’s. On this visit we had two mediums attending and both picked up on the same spirits that occupy this location, as well as sensitive team members.
We welcome your views on the report below.

EMF meter before the investigation began showed – Nil
Temperature reading around the room showed – 16.5
When the first vigil began it was still light outside and therefore the curtains in the room had to be drawn closed. This dull light emanating within the room was pleasing and comforting. Jim asked the group how everyone was feeling. There was a mixture of some feeling hot and others cold. When analysising the digital recorders afterwards a very faint sigh could be heard in the background, but this could well be attributed to a team member.
Jim began to call out to the spirits that dwelled in the house to “Come forward and make themselves known”. Mac asked “If there was anyone standing near the door”, but Jim could not feel anything. Nikki checks the temperature and declared that it had dropped by one degree. Helen sat on a wooden bench on the far side of the wall and within a few minutes she felt that someone had come and sat next to her, she could also hear whispering in her ear. Mac who was close by and wearing the hearing enhancer was not able to pick this up.
Nikki felt a draft around her legs, which others also felt, but we unable to determine the exact cause of it. Jim then asked the team “If they could see anything different”, no one could and he pointed out that he saw a shadow cross in front of Helen and Mac. Not long after this Helen who was still sitting on the bench informed the group that “Someone is touching the top of her head”.
Mac was over by the doorway and said that she was now picking up on a child, not a toddler perhaps early teens. Jim confirmed that it was a male. Nikki checks the temperature where Mac is and it changes from 15.1c to 21.9c.
A noise is then heard and the hearing enhancer that Mac is wearing went out of control to the point that the whole team could hear them. Night was beginning to drawn in now and the room was getting darker, but instead of the temperature going down with the draw of night, it was rising.
Jim calls out “For the spirit person in the room to touch or push someone”. The recorder then picks up what sounds like “NO” (EVP1 – Team 1)

Whoever this spirit is it appears to have taken a shine to Helen and once again she feels that someone is sitting next to her and keeps touching her hair and face. Mac then hears heavy breathing and she continues by saying that this person near Helen is not very tall. Jim picks up on an adult standing near the piano on the other side of the room.
A clicking noise is then heard and caught on the recorder. The team checked around the room for possible causes and discovered the by lifting the door catch the exact same noise was heard. Not one of the team was near to the door and no one was on the other side to lift the door catch. They asked for the noise to be repeated for confirmation, but nothing was heard again. You can view and hear the door catch on the highlighted video which is currently on the "Home" page.

The team then gathered around the table to start a séance. Jim said he felt that he wanted to run around the table playing and Helen informed the group that she could feel movement on her legs as though the table was being turned and she felt something touch her. Jim asked the speak to push Helen gently back for “No” and forward for “Yes”
Jim called out “Is this the young man that was playing with Helen earlier?” With this she was pushed away from the table.
Question: “Are you the older male that I saw in the corner?” Answer: “No”
Question: “Are you the gentleman I picked up last time?” Answer: “No”
Jim thanked the spirit for communicating with them and he then immediately started to pick up on a female spirit within the room.
Question: “Sir, do you know the female spirit that has joined us in the room?” Answer: “No”
Jim asked the spirit if he would now push Nikki or Mac in response to questions, but they felt nothing and therefore Helen continued.
Question: “Have you been here long?” Answer: “No”
Question: “Are you from The Priest House?” Answer: “No”
Question: “Are you from one of the other buildings?” Answer: “No”
Question: “Do you know anyone in this room?” There was no response.
Jim believed he had no connection to The Priest House and Helen agreed. She informed the team that before the investigation started she had walked around and went into the nearby graveyard. Jim continued with the questioning.
Question: “Did you follow Helen into this house?” No answer
Question: “Does Helen remind you of someone?” No answer
Question: “Are you from the village?” A very strong push indicating “Yes”
Question: “How long have you in spirit; did you pass away in the 1900’s?” Answer: “No”
Question: “Was it the 1800’s?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Was it before 1850?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Was it before 1820?”
At this point the team were constantly hearing noise within the room, but were unable to determine the cause.
Question: “How many spirits are in the room? Could you push Helen forward for each spirit that is here with us” Helen was pushed four times.
Jim then notices that Mac is swaying, and asks the spirit to push her sideways, but she is pushed forward instead. Helen feels a hand on her shoulder.
Question: “Are you alone here?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Are you lonely?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Would you like to join your loved ones?” There was no response and Jim said that they would come back later and help him if he wanted it.
It was decided then to move to the other room – the meeting/kitchen room and have a go at the Ouija board. There was still a glimmer of light coming through from outside and once again the curtains were closed. They began to call out to the spirit and invited them to move the glass upon the board. There was little or no response. Removing the Ouija board from the table, the team decided to try table tipping instead. After a short while most of the team assembled at the table believed that there was some movement being felt, however there was not enough evidence to suggest that this was a spirit.
The team was noticing noises that were appearing to be coming from the dining room area, along with some strange smells and decided to move back into that room again. The appeared much colder this time, but this could be attributed to night time setting in. The team sat around the antique wooden dining table and Mac called out to the spirit to move the table they were sat at. She was picking up on some strange sounds with the hearing enhancer, but was unable to distinguish what they were.
Nikki could feel the table shaking and at this point Jim began to hold his chest in pain. He informed the group that the spirit was close, but didn’t want to channel through him. What he was seeing was a beautiful woman, from her appearance and dress he would guess that she was from the early 1900’s.
Helen added that she had white cuffs, which Jim agreed. He continued with his description of her by saying that her dress was either white or a very light colour. Her hair was fair and done up in a bun. She also had a parasol which Helen said was over her right shoulder and was pale blue in colour, but Jim was unsure as everything about her was pale and light.
Both Jim and Helen believed she was in her early 20’s and very slim. Jim tries to communicate with her, but she is unresponsive and just smiles he says. Nikki asks if her name is Eleanor, because that is the name that has popped into her head. They ask, but receive no reply. Jim adds that she appears to be looking down as if there was a young child or small animal running around. He can now hear music and it sounds like a waltz.
Mac then believes she saw something move in the corner of the room, she wasn’t sure if it was a male of female figure, but it looked as though someone was playing the piano and the lady was dancing.
Jim picks up on gentleman from the last visit to The Priest House and Mac confirms he has moved to the door. Nikki asks “Who are you?” This gentleman now starts moving about the room Jim informs the group, first he is behind Helen and then moves round to where Mac is. Jim starts to laugh and asks Mac if she can feel anything. She confirms that she is feeling cold. He tells the group that he has returned to Helen, looked her up and down and has decided to go back to Mac because she is bigger and he has now has his arms around her and holding onto her breast. Mac confirmed that she could feel him.
Following this, Team 2 descended from upstairs and it was agreed that a break would be taken before continuing with another vigil.

Following this, Team 2 descended from upstairs and it was agreed that a break would be taken before continuing with another vigil.
Team 1 – Upstairs – Main Bedroom
Nikki took the temperature of the room when the team entered and it registered at 22.3c. She could also see a light near Jim and asked him if he had a camera light on, but he replied that he did not. The light was not seen again and they were unable to determine what it could have been.
Nikki was also starting to get the funny feeling in her stomach again. Jim explained to the rest of the group that when Nikki and he came up here earlier, before the investigation began, they both experienced a funny feeling in their stomach.
Helen feels there is someone up here and they are watching us; Jim agreed with her on this. She decides to use the dowsing rods to try and communicate with whoever is here. Asking if any spirits were here, the rods crossed indicating “Yes”.
Question: “Are you a male?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Are you happy here?” No answer given
Question: “Are there more spirits up here?” Answer: “No”
Helen asked the spirit to point the rods to where he was standing, the rods began to move and then the group all heard a noise within the room that sounded like a little voice.
Question: “Did you make that noise?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Are you 5 years old?” No response given
Question: “Do you miss the little girl that was here?” No movement from the rods
Question: “Do you remember the little girl?” Still no answer
A number of other questions were asked, but each one said there remained no movement from the rods.
Jim asked: “Is your name Master Thomas?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Do you know the lady downstairs?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Are you related to the lady downstairs?” No answer
Question: “How old are you?” They went through some ages until the rods cross at 6 years old. Both Helen and Jim were unsure that this was his age and he looked older then that.
Question: “Did you use to live here?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Do you miss your rocking horse?” Answer: “Yes”
Jim believed that he had died of TB.
Question: “When you were ill did you cough a lot?” Answer “Yes”
Jim said he was dressed in what appears to be a nightshirt and he is missing his teddy.
Question: “Do you miss your teddy bear?” The rods crossed very strongly indicating “Yes”
Question: “Would you like to see your mummy?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Do you know about heaven?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Is your name Peter?” Answer: “No”
Nikki asked: “Did you just blow on my hand?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Would you like to play a game, like a knocking game” Nikki knocked a couple of times, but there was no response heard back.
Jim informed the group that they were all being watched. He could sense two other people in the room, one was at the end of the bed post and the other by the door way. They had a negative feel to them and were looking very disapproving at the team being here.
It was at this point that the team moved to the adjacent room and as they did so a sweet smell was noticed, but unexplainable on where it came from. The temperature as they entered the room was 22.7c although it seemed far colder. Jim was feeling especially cold, but when Nikki pointed the temperature gauge at him the reading was registering 27.4c.
Jim moved into the little annex room of this nursery and began to pick up on a spirit. The team moved into this room to join him. The temperature in this room was 19c. Jim feels very anguished and when Helen starts to talk to him, he pulls away. He is managing to channel through to a spirit and when asked he says that his name is Simon. He points towards the door. Helen believes that Simon is about 13 years old.
Jim tells the group that there is a lady present also, who Simon is frighten off. Nikki hears a noise and Helen confirms that she heard a moaning noise and then footsteps. These steps appear to be going towards where Nikki is and she becomes a little shaken by this.
Jim asks if any other members of the team can see this lady. Helen can and said she not that tall, in her 40’s and is wearing a Tudor style bonnet and a long dark dress. Jim continues that they appears to be something wrong with her face. Helen says that her face looks bigger than it should be. Nikki adds that she can feel something around her.
This lady seems to be moving about within the room and Jim gets a feeling she is after Simon. She appears very strict and for some reason Simon has done something wrong. He said that when others see her they would be scared by her presence; Simon certainly was and added to the fact that she really does not want us here. He then feels someone or something touch his arm.
The atmosphere within the room is changing along with the temperature which is constantly going up and down. Helen asks Jim if he can see a cat running around, she keeps on getting glimpses of it, he was unsure what it could be, but he had not seen a cat.
While Jim and Mac sit on the floor of the room, Mac feels that since sitting down she can feel more energy around her, perhaps there was also young children around as she was now at their height. As her and Jim have a discussion, Mac sees something pass between them and then a woman’s voice is heard, but unfortunately not caught on the recorder.
Jim manages to channel the lady that he had seen earlier. She was a governess and is here now to keep order with the children around, it is imperative that they behave accordingly. She is not happy with the group and fears that they have no right to be here and moving the spirits on. He obtains the date 1751 when she was present within this area, but not necessarily this house.
Helen picks up the dowsing rods again and begins questioning any spirits present.
Question: “Are you a male?” The rods cross indicating “Yes”
Question: “Are you a young man?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Are you the young man I keep seeing?” There is no movement from the rods.
Question: “Can you move the rods to show us where you are?” The rods point slightly to the left.
Question: “Can you confirm if there is another spirit person here with us?” No answer
Mac interrupts the session to say that her right ear is burning; Nikki also says that her same ear is burning as well.
Question: “Is there anyone here in this building, which means us harm or wants to try and scare us away?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Did you use to come and play here?” Answer: “Yes”
At this point the vigil had to come to a close and a short break was taken before carrying on with the remainder of the night’s investigation.
We believe that there could be a possible link with the names that Jim picked up on – Thomas and Peter which could be connected to the Brown family who resided in this house for over hundred years. We are currently do more research into this and if we have further information we will post it on to the website.
Nikki took the temperature of the room when the team entered and it registered at 22.3c. She could also see a light near Jim and asked him if he had a camera light on, but he replied that he did not. The light was not seen again and they were unable to determine what it could have been.

Team 2 – Upstairs – Main Bedroom
This was Team 2 first vigil of the night and once again the light from outside was streaming in through the windows and therefore where curtains were attached, they were drawn. The temperature was recorded at 20.4c. Jane begins the investigation by calling out to any spirits within the room to make themselves known. She also asks the team how they feel and all are fine and relaxed.
As they all stand quietly Carol picks up on a female spirit around her, she is a mother who is tending to her young girl. This lady is very calm in her appearance and she sits on the edge of the bed watching the baby.
Jane asks: “Are you happy being here?” Carol says “She is very happy”
“Are they your babies?” Carol does not receive a reply from the lady.
“Where are you standing now?” Carol replies between Jane and Charlotte.
They decide that as this lady is replying directly with Carol that they would try using the dowsing rods to see if she will communicate with them. Jane picked up the rods and started asking some questions.
Question: “Do you mind us being here?” The rods moved apart indicating “No”
Question: “How many other spirits are here with you?” She counted and the rods moved at “5”
Question: “Can you give us your name?” Carol answered “Just call her mother”
Question: “Are there any male spirits here with you?” “The rods crossed indicating “Yes”
Question: “Are they nice male spirits?” Answer: “No”
Question: “Are they harmful male spirits?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Do they mean us any harm?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Are there any children spirits here?” Carol replied “There is a baby here.”
Question: “Would you like to talk to us on the board?” Answer “Yes”
With this reply the group gather around the Ouija board to establish contact with this calm lady who liked to be called Mother. They call out for her to move the glass and then asked her “How old are you?” They asked out several times, but received no response from the glass.
Jane calls out for any other spirits to come forward and communicate with them. The glass remained in the centre of the board, but one of the team believes that they saw movement over in the corner of the room. The temperature was taken again and it had dropped to 18.4c. The group could feel cold spots around them as they continued to stand around the Ouija board. Carol picks up on another female within the room. Sheila feels that this particular lady could be the nanny and Carol agrees that she appears to have an appearance of caring with her. They call out for her to make a noise for them so they know she is there, but no noise is heard. Carol says “She saying to me – you know she is here”.
The team decide to move into the adjacent room on this floor – the nursery room and annex. The temperature as they enter the room is recorded at 18.9c. They feel that the pressure within this room is much heavier indeed. Before long Carol picks up on a male spirit and then says they are actually more than just the one male spirit here with us. Jane asks “Is he happy with us being here?” Carol replies to her “He is not at all happy and he doesn’t want us here, we don’t belong here and he doesn’t want to talk to us.”
Jane asks “Is he going to try and scare us again like the last time we were here?” Carol answers “Yes”
At this point one of team heard what sounds like a groan and Jane asks the spirit if that was him. They also noticed that the atmosphere had changed it seemed darker and more negative. Carol remarked that it was almost like he is frightened to show himself. Upon saying this, a strange sound is picked up on the digital recorder, at this time we are unable to identify exactly what it could be. EVP Team 2.

The group decided to return back into the main bedroom and assemble themselves at the far end of the room near the window. Sheila remarks that she has a bad pain in her foot, it almost feels like gout. Jane asks if that is the male spirit that is putting this pain on Sheila and Carol gets an answer “Yes” back from him. She also remarks that there are a number of children playing around in the room now.
Jane calls out to the children to come and play with them, but receives no response. Carol informs the group that now a dominant male spirit is here and he making me spin right round, she asks the spirit to give his name to her and it comes through as Victor. This spirit is out for vengeance now; Jane asks “Is he the one trying to scare us?” Carol replies that he has said “Yes, he told you last time you were here, so what do you want?”
They ask him to make a noise or to touch one of them, but Carol says “He is on the move again.” The group then form a circle and start a séance. Jane calls out and asks Carol is she is OK, she replies “That Victor is not going to come through, but he is walking around” Jane calls out for the Mother Lady to come and talk to them. The group then smell cigar smoke.
Carol picks up on the Mother Lady and relays that she is bored and is busy plating her hair; there is also something in her hair. Sheila tells them – it could be linen as in those days they would wrap the linen around their hair and it would come out in ringlets. They ask her a few more questions, but do not receive much response from her.
Once again they move back into the nursery room to see if the atmosphere has changed. Immediately Jane complains about a pain in her head. Carol informs her “That it is Victor and he sees you as the weak one” she continues to add “Victor does not like women and he is a bully” Jane asks Victor “Could you do something more, we do have respect for you” Carol says “He is laughing at her now.”
As the group stand within the room Carol points out that Victor is standing behind Jane. He likes her although she is the weakest one. Jane then feels like someone is touching her leg. Carol informs Charlotte that Victor does not like her at all, he is saying “What do you want?” They begin to ask him questions, which Carol is able to answer as he communicates with her.
Question: “Can you tell us how old you are?” Answer: “No”
Question: “Why are you here?” No reply
Question: “Did you live here?” Answer: “Yes at one stage”
Question: “Can we have your name?” Answer: “I have told you it is Victor”
Charlotte asks “Why don’t you like me?” Answer: “You’re rude”
Jane asks “Would he talk to us if we were on our own?” Answer: “Don’t care”
Question: “Why are you here Victor?” Answer: “I live here”
Question: “Do you not want to move on to the light?” Carol says “He thinks you’re stupid”
Question: “Do you know that you are dead Victor?” Jane feels he does not know
Question: “Who did you live with Victor?” Carol then says that he has moved away. He has gone because Charlotte is laughing at him and he has become upset. Jane begins to feel sick and the group decide to end the vigil and go for break.

Team 2 – Downstairs
As the team begin their next vigil, they situate themselves in the main dining room and the temperature recording shows 16c. Almost immediately Carol picks up on a tall male spirit that is standing in the doorway, his name is Charles. This particular spirit walks up to Carol and she can feel the effects of him. Jane asks the spirit to do something in the room to provide more evidence to them that he is here. He moves away from Carol now and stands in the corner. They here a noise which sound like the table is rattling, but Carol did move at the same time and could have caught it.
Jane continues to call out to any spirit to make themselves known. Carol tell Jane that Victor is back and downstairs with them, he is talking about someone called Joseph. She asks the spirit if that is Joseph standing by the door and receives a reply that it is.
Sheila asks “Is he a young man?” And Carol replies “Yes”
“Do you live here with your family?” Carol confirms that he does. She also informs the group that there is a lady sitting watching us by the fire, she can also hears children. Carol then gets shoved and Jane asks Joseph “Was that you who pushed her?” And he said “Yes”
Question: “Don’t you like women in the dining room Joseph?” Answer: “No”
Question: “Our place is in the kitchen?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Is that your mother that is standing behind you?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “She is stronger than you. What is she telling you?” Carol says “She is telling him what to do and what not to do”
Jane asks Joseph to make a noise or do something to make us go and which point Charlotte says that it felt like someone had just kicked her leg. Carol tells them that the mother is listening and he will not answer.
The temperature in the room has now risen to 26.3c. Carol gets a name Marion or Margaret and Jane asks “Are you Joseph’s mother?” And receives a reply “Yes”. Carol then says “Eleanor won’t come downstairs” Sheila asks “Was she ill?” but Carol replies “She is not allowed downstairs”. Then Carol says the name Sarah, “She died, couldn’t breathe” and continue by describing that she has ribbons or something around her. Her mother is in the kitchen area and is looking for her child.
With this the team move into the kitchen area and Carol points out that the lady is sitting by the fire and she looks so sad. Jane asks the spirit to come forward and offers to help. Carol says the ladies name is Margaret and she is call for Sarah the baby. She continues by telling the group that Margaret cannot go upstairs, because Victor won’t let her, just as he will not let the children downstairs.
There is also a little boy with her and she has told Carol that it is her son. The team call out to Sarah to come and join her mother, but it appears she will not take those steps down because she is not allowed. Carol tells the group that Joseph is now also in the kitchen area. It appears to the group that both Joseph and Victor control what goes on. Carol informs them that Margaret just sits and cries and this in turn is too overwhelming for Carol and she too starts to cry as the spirit connects with her, through this emotion she is able to relay that Margaret is pleading for help.
There was a mixed emotions and feels within the group and much sadness for Margaret and her awful predicament. Jane asks “Why they will not allow the mother to see her child”, she hears a noise within the room, but is unable to distinguish what or where it came from. They feel the presence of Victor entering into the room. Carol says “He is stronger than the master” she continues to say “That he is talking about a boot; he has boots that are better and shinier than the master” when asked where these boots are, he replies “Beside my bed.”
Jane tells the group that her head is hurting again and believes it could be Victor affecting her. Carol says that he is now standing behind Sheila and has his hand on her right shoulder. He does however; keep moving back and forth to the corner of the room. The group decide to try another séance and call out for any spirits to come forward. Sheila asks him “Why he keeps pacing back and forth?” Carol says that he replied “It’s his house”
Question: “Why just that area?” Answer: “Why not?”
Question: “Have you got your boots on?” Answer: “No, they are only for special occasions"
The group hear two knocks and ask Victor “Was that you?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “What was your job Victor?” Answer: “I would tell people what to do – the master”
Question: “So you would tell others what to do?” Answer: “Of course”
Question: “So who told you what to do?”
Jane gets a feeling as if someone has just blown in her ear and asks “Was that you Victor?” Carols says “No, it was Joseph.”
Question: “Was Joseph you master Victor?” Answer: “No, the master is not here.”
Carol clarifies that Victor was the head of the house, but not the master – he did not own the house.
Question: “Was Joseph below you?” Answer: “Of course”
Question: “What is the name of the master of the house?” They did not receive a reply.
Question: “Who was the master of the whole house?” Answer: “He’s not here”
Question: “Yes we know, but who is it?” The name Alfred and George came forward.
Carol tells the group that Joseph is good spirit. Jane feels as though someone is touching her hand and asks “Is that you Joseph?” Carol replies “No it isn’t” She feels that some other spirit other than Joseph and Victor have joined them in the room. They ask Victor if there is another spirit that has joined them, but Carol informs the group that he is not interested, he is antisocial but Joseph is happy to talk.
Jane asks if they can get the lady from the kitchen to come into the room. As she said that there was a strange feeling within the room – Carol said that Victor didn’t like that. They begin to call out to Sarah, the young child upstairs, to come down and join her mother. They continuously call her, edging her further and further down the stairs, with the encouragement from Carol that she is getting closer and closer.
Finally Carol informs them that mother and child have reunited, she feels very emotional and says that they are holding each other. It was decided that once the two teams join together at the end they will cross them over if they so wished.

Team 1 and 2 - Upstairs
Both teams were taking a break before commencing onto the next vigil, when Carol felt a very urgent need to return back upstairs immediately. They all followed her and started a séance. It was not long before Victor moved to Carol and would not leave her, she became overwhelmed with his presence. Victor was extremely strong and appeared a bully in this matter and it took some time for Jim to push him away from Carol.
Jim held onto to Victor whilst Carol moved away from the circle, but the spirit gave up with Jim as he was unable to affect him. Nikki then began to feel weak and unease and Jim said that Victor was now picking on the weakest of the group as he was having no luck with the strongest. Jim increased the protection around Nikki and worked with her to make sure she was OK.
The continued with the séance and Jane noticed that Jim was not himself, he was starting to channel the spirit and the group noticed that his hands were clenched tight and his face had the look of total frustration. Jim calls for more protection for the whole team as he also tries to cross Victor over, but this spirit was going nowhere.
The team thought it best to return back downstairs for a short break and return, but Carol was having none of it, she wouldn’t go downstairs, and she really was not with it. She wanted to enter the small annex room in the smaller bedroom; she believed this was Victor’s room. The group noticed how upset she was becoming and decided to keep her in the corridor.
Jim goes into the annex room and Carol picks up on a little girl who is very afraid of Victor, she won’t enter this room as he will hurt her. Jim got the name Eleanor and agreed with Carol, the spirit would not let her go downstairs, because it was forbidden for children to do so. Eleanor wanted to know about the baby?
Jim is holding Victor back, but Eleanor’s emotions is affecting Carol, she is becoming very emotionally drained. Eventually some of the group are able to take Carol downstairs for a break. Jane and Mac stay upstairs with Jim as he holds onto Victor and tries to find out what he wants. They too so return downstairs to join the rest for a break. During this time Jim started to get agitated and he wanted to return upstairs as Victor was beginning to take him over, Mac and Jane managed to stop him and return him back to the kitchen area. Jim said that Victor is not happy and he felt at one point that he would have been quite violent.
The team returned upstairs again and began another séance in the small annex (display room) in the nursery bedroom. They call Victor into the circle. Jane says her hand has gone really cold and the pain has come back. They ask him “Why are you so angry?”
Jim begins to channel through to Victor. Jane’s team had earlier picked up that they thought Victor had been abused when he was a child; he did not like to be questioned about it. After a while Victor enters the circle and the team try to cross him over, however another spirits enters the circle and is consequently pushed into the light by Victor.
As the group continue they are able to feel the presence of Joseph with them, Jim says that Victor is becoming weaker and call upon the help of the spirits to help Victor pass over, there was a feeling that he had crossed over as both Jim and Carol were clear of him, but Jim was not certain that it did happen.
Carol had picked up on the little girl Eleanor again, Jim began to ask some questions towards the girl, but it appeared she seemed very scared of him and they felt she didn’t like men. Jim steps away out of the circle and calls for the girl’s mother to come and collect her. He sees many tears, but these tears were for joy and happiness. Before too long the team were able to cross the girl over so she could join her loved ones.
Jim picks up on a lady that both teams had come across earlier in the investigation – she is happy to be here and was not trapped, but helped the spirits that still remain within the house. The spirit relayed to Jim that she was happy on the achievements the team had done in helping others where others had not tried.

Team 1 and 2 – Downstairs
The team hold a séance in the kitchen area and they call upon Margaret and Sarah to come forward and enter their circle so that they too can be crossed over. It was an emotional feeling for them all as they were once again successful in accomplishing this.
They then entered into the dining room and held another séance around the table. Mac was hoping that the gentleman spirit who had touched her up earlier would come forward again. This time Jim picks up on a man by the name of Charles who started to walk around the outside of the circle and stood behind some of the members of the team. Jim said he is really a funny guy, happy and a real ladies man. Some of the group felt that Victor was still around, but Jim said he won’t come downstairs now. Charles knows Victor, but they are very different and possibly even from different times.
After asking various questions to Charles and receiving some response, he told Jim that it was time for them to all leave. It was a feeling that he meant it and the team didn’t need to be told twice. At this point the night’s investigation came to a close.

Conclusion
We had a really great time at the Priest House and we were very tried by the time we had packed up and left. Again I would like to thank our host for making us welcome and would like to say that the Priest House is a must for you to visit. Even a visit during the daytime would be good, as this little village hold so much history within its walls.
I would like to say that some of you reading this may not believe what we done, or what we went though. All I can say is we have no reason and nothing to gain by making anything up. We are a strong team who over the last year have been able to cross over many lost spirits. Why we pick up more than other teams I don’t know, maybe other team don’t declare what they picked up. Sadly we can offer very little evidence of what took place other than the word of those there, and of course that includes our two mediums. I was able to get some names that tied in with the history of the Priest House on both visits. Carol also got some names this time which we are still looking into. This evidence is very thin, but evidence never the less.
There were photos taken, but only a couple of dust orbs, and nothing more, on the video there are some light anomies which you can see for yourself.
We also feel that here at the Priest House many of the spirits that we have met there are drawn from the graveyard opposite. Many of the things we have picked up during our two visits here have been confirmed, and some of the names can be found in the history of the village. I would also like to point out that we do not check the history until after our visit, which is why we do not like visiting a place more than once. Having said that, we did return back here, because we felt there was unfinished business here from our first visit.
When we left the Priest House for the second time we said we would not return, however it was only a day or so when two if the teams member started saying they needed to go back. Jane being one them. Jane did not want to go back the second time, now she was almost begging to go back for the 3rd time, which will be our last (I hope).
