Fort Amherst - Chatham, Kent
Investigation Date: 17 February 2012
In 1667 the Dutch raided the River Medway and attacked Chatham’s Royal Dockyard. During the devastating attack, thirteen ships were destroyed and two were taken including the flagship of the fleet, the ‘Royal Charles’. At that point in time there were no defences protecting the Dockyard against a land based attack, and the raid by the Dutch led to a review of the defences protecting this important site. As well as improved defence of the River Medway the review included proposals to protect the landward side of the Dockyard which would also serve to disrupt an invasion party heading towards London. This is where the story of Fort Amherst and Chatham Lines begins.
In 1708 plans were beginning to be drawn up to construct a fortification to protect the Royal Dockyard from a land based attack. In 1714 land was bought for the construction of the fortifications but work did not start until 1755. The fortifications were to be built on the ditch and rampart principle; this was a common method of fortification construction during this period.
Part of the site chosen included a chalk pit with a number of caves. These caves were extended between 1776 and 1805 to provide an underground labyrinth of tunnels, protected underground gun positions and protection in the event of a siege. The tunnels contain many interesting and important features including a well, privies, loopholed defences, cannon positions and defendable gateways.
To ensure the protection of the Dockyard, three defendable gateways were constructed to control and defend access into the area protected by the Chatham Lines. One of these gateways, the Upper Barrier Guardhouse, can be found within the lower portion of Fort Amherst. The guardhouse housed a small garrison to defend the route from Chatham town by the use of a drawbridge, loopholed walls and a set of three heavy gates. The barrack rooms within this building have been restored for your enjoyment.
This is a wonderful old Fort and a place where lots of paranormal activity is said to take place. We are very happy to be carrying out this investigation as a joint venture with our friends from White Light Paranormal, a link to their website can be found on the links page.

Highlights of the night's investigation
The Report
Fort Amherst is situated high above the town of Chatham in Kent and overlooks the estuary. The entrance into the caves is dug into the imposing hill which resembles a mini version of the White Cliffs. The corridors of the caves meander around first downwards, then upwards and down again. It is all very deceiving to the brain, as you are unable to fathom if you hundred of meters below ground or half way up the hill.
It was cold night when the team arrived, but thankfully not overly cold for the time of year. However, we were told that come 1.00am when the tide came in (or out) the temperature would drop considerably – and it did.
The group was given a tour of the caves and barracks upon arrival. Having seen maps and read about the location, it was disappointing to find that instead of investigating what appeared to be many tunnels within the caves, all we were shown was one main tunnel with a stairs leading to a grand hall and balcony. In addition to this the other area’s to investigate were:
Communication Rooms and Sleeping Quarters
Guards Room / Barracks - located opposite the caves and across the car park
Team 1: Jim, Jane, Janet, Kirsty, Lyn, Charlotte, Tina
Team 2: Carol, Claire, Mac, Pauline, Nikki, Zoe, Emma, Sue on Camera
Equipment Used:
Camcorder
Digital camera’s
Night vision camera’s
Digital recorders
EMF Meters
Infra Red Thermometers
Dowsing Rods
Ouija Board
Auto Writing Board (Planchette)
Green Laser PenTeam 1 – The Control Room and Bunk Beds
Once the team had entered the room and settled down they tried to connect with any spirits presence by using the Dowsing Rods. At this point a shadow is seen at the door peering around and Jim calls out, as do other members of the team, but receive no response. Jim then suddenly leaves this room and walks quickly into the other room, however when questioned on why he did this, he was unable to clarify why, only that he just had to go in the other room. A few of the team members are now feeling sick.
They decided to use the Auto Writer next and did get a little movement, but it could have been subconscious hand shaking. However, given a while longer they did begin to get a better response and they believed that whoever it was, they were trying to write their name. Following this the team moved on to the Ouija board and with Jim calling out, the glass movement began.
Question: “Are you a male?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Did you work here?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “What is your name?”
Suddenly the team could feel that it had gone very cold around the table.
Question: “Is it you that made it go cold?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Can you make a noise?” Answer: “Yes” No noise was heard other than more movement from the glass.
Question: “Can you tell me your name please?” The glass goes to G
They ask again and the glass moves to E
Question: “Can you give us the second letter?” The glass moves to D
Question: “Is your name Edward?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Did you die here?” Answer: “Yes”
Jim asks Edward to confirm if it was an accident? Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Are you the soldier I keep seeing dressed in a red jacket and carrying a rifle with a bayonet on?” Answer: “Yes”Later Jane tells the team she has a pain around the head and it’s a burning sensation. Janet was able to confirm to the team that a soldier had been killed by friendly fire and shot in the head. This information was found in one of the many books found on sale, but must add that Jane had no knowledge of this before the event.
Question: “Can you tell us when you passed over?” Answer: “1735”
Question: “Are we safe here tonight?” Answer: “No”
Question: “Is that from bad spirits?” Answer: “Yes”
The team then move into the main control room and start a séance. Jim calls out for the spirits within the room to make contact, either by touching someone or by making a noise. After a couple of minutes they notice that the clip boards that were hanging on the wall behind them had started to move. They made certain that no one was near them and that there was no breeze or wind that could help cause the boards to move, however as they continue to watch, different boards started moving. Noises are also heard and Jim asks for the noise to be repeated and they are.
Team 1 – The Barracks
Upon entering the building they decided to split into two smaller groups. There were several rooms upstairs and each smaller group occupied the individual rooms. Contained within these rooms were beds, although it was generally felt that this was not right and the rooms would have served a different purpose.
Jim called out with his group and was told to return to the others, no reason given.
Lyn called out for her group and they felt that there was something or someone was in the room with them. They also saw someone up against the glass. In addition, something also walked in through the door way just ahead of Jim and the others returning. Lyn requested that any spirits present to make a sound or a noise that they could hear, but nothing can back in response. Janet felt there was someone around her feet and started to feel that they wanted to enter her body.
As they continued with the vigil there was a feeling of much movement around the team. Jim felt he wanted to stand to attention. Janet believed this would have been an officer’s room and Jim felt that’s what he was doing – standing to attention in the presents of an officer. One member of the team felt as if someone blew into their face.
The team form a circle and begin a séance with Jim calling out. As they stood, there was a feeling within the circle that seems to be making them all sway. Jim picks up on someone who he believes to be French, he could not understand him and he would not talk in English. Jane is then pushed towards the middle of the circle. Jim then goes into a trance and Jane asks him questions.
Question: “Can you tell us your name?” Answer: “Peter”
Question: “Did you work here?” Answer: “I served here”
Question: “Did you die here?” Answer: “No”
Jim returned from the trance as Peter did not want to stay. Kirsty sees a black figure in front of her which came forward then disappeared. Jim goes back into a trance again and does the sign of the cross as he enters the inner circle. He walks up to Kirsty and says “Bless you my child, you are soon to be with child” and then backs away. When he comes back from the trance he wasn’t sure if this spirit was a priest or a monk. Janet said it could have been a padre.
With nothing else going on in here the team decide to try another part of the building. They formed a circle and Jim called out again. This time they felt someone near them, Kirsty could feel someone very close to her, touching her hand. Jim was able to get the name Charlie. They asked what he wanted and he took Kristy’s hand and led her away from the circle, her hand seems to be stuck up in the air. Jim asked Charlie to let go and let Kirsty have her hand back. Her hand lower to her side and new she felt she was being hugged. Jim called him back in to the circle and he did not want her to come back.
In another part of the building the team see what can only be described as the spirit of a soldier. It was very clear, but nothing from here was caught on photo however, there was lots of movement, and Kirsty was able to get something on video.
Team 1 - The Long Tunnel
The team decided to try table tipping here and also the Ouija board. The table tipping produced nothing, they could feel as if it wanted to move, but it could have been them. They then used the Ouija board. Jane calls out and a male spirit comes through.
Question: “Is there someone here you don’t like?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Can you give us the first letter of your name?” Answer: “R”
Question: “Is your name Richard?” No answer
Question: “Could you give us the second letter of your name please?” No answer
Question: “How many spirits are in this room with us?” Answer: “8”
Question: “Would one of you please come forward?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Are you hiding down here?” Answer: “Yes” Question: “Is that you that we keep hearing moving around?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Can you shake the table for us?” No answer
Question: “If I whistle can you copy me?”
At this point, after Jane has whistled the team believe that they heard a reply to it. It has been caught on the digital recorder. Please judge for yourself and listen to it.

The team try out the Green Pen Laser - this emits a green grid light which projects on to walls, floors and ceiling. This proved to be one of the best things of the evening, as after a while of calling out, the team could see movement down the left side of tunnel, heading away from the end. They confirmed with each other the outline of three objects moving towards them, and then they stopped. They could only say what they looked like which was three people, or at least the outline of three people. It was like they were watching them – who in turn were watching the team.
Shortly afterward there was a feeling of being joined by someone who was French. They ask for the candles flame to flicker, it did change, but hard to say it was a spirit moving it. They then get a tap on the table and the candle flame becomes erratic. Janet then begins to sing French songs, but they receive no response.
Lyn starts to feel uneasy here as does Jane and they decide to leave the vigil. Those left in the team go upstairs, but no activity is recorded. Jim picks up on someone passing here; he was drawn to the ammunition dump. There was a long drop where the ammo was lowered down. Janet starts marching up and down. They use the dowsing rods to communicate.
Janet calls out and asks “Were you an officer?” The rods cross indicating “Yes”
She feels that this person thinks he is better than us and the rods cross again.
Question: “Can you point the rods to where you are?” They point behind Janet.
Question: “Are you British?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Are you an officer?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Are you a Lieutenant?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Are you married?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Does someone here remind you of your wife?” Answer: “No”
Question: “Is your wife in the room?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Will you show yourself to us?” Answer: “Yes” but nothing is seen
Question: “If we went on the raised area would you show yourself?” Answer: “Yes” still nothing
Question: “Are you having fun with us?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Are we entertaining you?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Would you talk to us if we used the Ouija board?” Answer: “No”
They continued to hear different sounds, but nothing to give evidence that this was paranormal.
Team 2 – Long Tunnel
The team gather round to assess the area and Nikki uses the dowsing rods to try and establish communication with any spirits present. They initial get a response from the rods
Question: “Are you a male?” No response
Question: “Are you a female?” No response
Question: “Are you a child?” No response
Question: “Are you a young girl? Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Are you under 10 years of age?” No response
Question: “Are you over 10 years of age?” No response
Question: “Do you feel lost?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Do you want us to go away?” Answer: “Yes”
Mac asks Carol if she is picking up on any spirits. She response by saying she is picking up on a man who has had his neck broken, someone has grabbed him from behind and twisted his head until his neck has broken. Nikki calls out to this spirit, but receives no response on the dowsing rods. A noise is heard which cannot be identified. The team move around the tunnel calling out and throwing small stones asking for them to be returned, but none are. Carol notices that they are being watched by the man with the broken neck, but other than this, the area is very flat with no activity at all. The group decide to split into two groups, with one group remaining where they were and the other group investigating the upstairs area.
The splitting up of the group did not produce any further development and each group could hear the others calling out, so they gathered together again and try the dowsing rods again.
Nikki calls out and the rods cross.
Question: “Are you a soldier?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Are you infantry?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Were you here before the Second World War?” No response
Mac sees a light go past some of the group and they decide to use the Ouija board to communicate. Mac calls out, but they get little response from the glass. Sue then shouts out some military orders and in doing so the team hear footsteps which appear to be coming from the upper levels. She continues to shout out the orders and each time the footsteps are heard in response.
The team continue to investigate the area, but other than the feeling of being watched they do not have any activity. Carol did get the name Jeffrey, but was unable to establish who this man was.
Team 2 – Control Room
While the security lights remain on the team take a good look around the area. A rattling noise is heard and once pinpointed they noticed a pencil which is situated in a metal filing tray shaking. This was picked up on the camcorder; however it cannot be verified that someone may have accidently knocked the table. The team stand silently and at this point Sue hears what sounds like an old fashion telephone ringing. This was also caught on the digital recorder.

Some members of the team hear people talking and a deep voice, when they checked the surrounding areas and room, no one was around. They call out and banging is then heard, once again checks were made to ensure that no other teams where within the vicinity,
The security lights go out and Mac uses the dowsing rods, but receives no reply to any questions that were called out. Carol has a feeling of passion; she can also hear a female voice saying “My voice goes out”, but has no reasons why.
Mac sees a mist that is moving around, whilst Emma and Nikki feel very strange. Carol is picking up on female spirits at the far end of the room and guides the team to that area. They use the dowsing rods again to communicate, but receive no replies to their questions. They use the auto writer and get some movement, but very slight.
Using the dowsing rods again Carol asks “Is one of the females present is called Jane? The rods cross indicating Yes.
Question: “Did you work here?” No response
Carol believes there are 3 females present
Question: “Are there other spirits here with us?” Answer: “Yes”
Carol asks “Jane were you an Observer?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Are you married?” No answer
Question: “Are you in uniform?” No answer
Carol then gets the name of one of the other female spirits – Mavis and this is confirmed with a Yes from the rods.
Question: “Did you work in this room during the Second World War?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Were you in your 60’s when you crossed over?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Jane, did you die during the war?” Answer: “Yes”Carol tells Sue that they want to talk with her. Sue asks varies questions, but the rods do not move. Sue then realises the reason why they want to communicate with her – during the Falklands War she was posted to a NATO base and worked in the main Control Operational Room, perhaps a similar situation. Carol confirms this is exactly it and what she is trying to get across. Carol can also see a parcel and this has something to do with Mavis. They now direct the questions to Mavis.
Question: “Mavis, are you married?” No response
Question: “Mavis, did you bring your child down here in the caves?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Did your home get bombed?” No response
Question: “Mavis, did your child die before you?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Was your child evacuated?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Mavis, was your child’s belongings sent back to you?” Answer: “Yes” They feel that the parcel Carol was seeing was the child’s belongings.
The group now move into the bunk area and begin using the Ouija board with Mac and Claire calling out. Carol began to pick up on a male figure that was present in the room and asked that he come forward and make himself known. She gets the name Gareth and later on also gets the name Edward, but is unsure which of these names his first name is. They ask Sue to call out due to her military background. The glass feels as though it wants to move, but it doesn’t. They decide to use the dowsing rods and appear to receive more response from them. Carol says he is well spoken and appears to feel his own importance. Via the dowsing rods they were able to establish that he was a Wing Commander in the RAF.
Team 2 – The Barracks
The team begin this vigil on the first floor in one of the end side rooms. They call out and ask Carol if she can feel anyone present. There was nothing in this particular room, but urged that the first room and hallway was where they all need to go. Upon entering the room Carol felt there was perhaps a fight that had broken out and someone got stabbed. It started in the hallway and he staggered into this room.
With this information the use the dowsing rods to communicate and immediately heard footsteps. They call out and the rods crossed. A very cold breeze was then felt by many of the team.
Question: “Are you in the room with us?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Are there more than one of you?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Are there four of you?” Answer: “No”
At this point, Sue joked that it looked like she could see a hooded monk in the corner of the room. However, the recordings also showed that Team 1 had contact with a monk in this area. A ball is placed in the middle of the floor and they ask any spirits present to move it, but nothing happens. Emma believes she then heard someone say “Childish”They use the Ouija board with Mac calling out. The glass is very slow and reluctant to move, so they move on to using the dowsing rods.
Question: “Does you name begin with A? Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Is your name Albert?” Answer: “Yes” (Carol got this name come through to her)
Question: “Were you injured?” Answer: “Yes”

Question: “Did you die in this room?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Are you happy with us being here?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Were you under 20 years of age?” Answer: “No”
Emma keeps getting the number 28
Question: “Albert, are you aged between 20 and 25?” Answer: “Yes”
Mac feels someone is looking in through the windows which separate the room to the passage way.
Question: “Can you make a noise?” No movement from the rods
Question: “Can you move the ball?” No response
Question: “Does someone here look like your mother?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Can you point the rods to that person?” The rods move and point towards Claire.
Claire asks “Are you happy that I’m here?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Is Alfred here with you?” Answer: “Yes”
Mac asks “Could you touch Claire to let her know you are here?” Answer: “Yes”

Claire asks “Do you miss your Mum?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Is she with you?” Answer: “No”
Question: “Would you like to join your Mum?” No response
Question: “Are you happy here?” Answer: “No”
They decide to return to using the rods as his response was much stronger with these.
Question: “Albert, are you sad?” Answer: “Yes”Claire asks “Would you like me to take you to see your Mum?” Answer: “No”
Question: “Are you scared?” No answer
Question: “Do you want to leave here?” No answer again.
Each time Claire lifts the rods and puts them in situ, without even asking a question, the rods move from side to side. It becomes difficult to ask any questions as the rods would not remain still. Carol informs the group that there are a least 10 spirits in the room and this could well be the reason the rods would not remain still.
After a few minutes of resting the rods, Claire is able to raise them up and keep them still for the next question:
“Is there anyone else in the room with us?” The rods cross for “Yes”
Question: “Albert, do you mainly stay in the passage way?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Albert, the breeze that we can feel in this room, is it down to the spirits coming in and out of the room?” Answer: “Yes”
Pauline feels that someone keeps touching her face all the time. They ask the question, if someone is doing this to her, but receive no response from the rods.
Question: “Is there a Jacob in the room?” No response
Mac makes a knocking sound and asks for it to be repeated. She is sure that a knocking sound is heard back in response, but is unsure of this, or whether it was perhaps an echo. She repeats it again and nothing is heard at all.
Question: “Albert, is there someone sitting on the bed with us? No answer is received back, but sounds are heard by some members of the team.
Footsteps are then heard again, but the group are unable to determine where they are coming from.
Team 1 and Team 2 – Control Room
The two teams join together for the last vigil of the night and all assemble in the Control / Communication Room. The form a circle straight away on entering the area and begin a séance with Jim calling out. He feels this would have been a very busy room and he picks up on a male who doesn’t seem to like the group being here as they don’t seem serious enough.
Mac calls out for the female spirits they had picked up on earlier during Team 2 vigil; Jane and Mavis, but they do not receive any response. Jim picks up on a young girl and gets the initial D, however she seems out of place in this area. He also feels that a mother died during childbirth. Jane has a very bad pain in her stomach and Jim steps in and helps move back whoever it was that was causing this pain to Jane. Emma feels that she is being pushed.
Jim then feels a young child in the room with them and Mac notices the lamp is swaying, they are unsure if anything could have done this and checks are inconclusive. Some of team hear children in the room. Pauline uses the dowsing rods to try and communicate with any spirits. Jim calls out and the rods cross.Question: “Are you a male?” No response
Question: “Have you been here a long time?” The rods move very strongly to “Yes”
Question: “Is that Jane?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Do you know the lady that died in childbirth that worked here?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Do you know the name Caroline?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Was she the one that died in childbirth?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Can you move about so we can see you?” Answer: “Yes”, but nothing is seen
Question: “Jane, can you point the rods to where you are standing?” Answer: “Yes” and the rods point to where our Jane is standing.
Further questions are asked and after a while it was decided to call an end to the investigation.

Question: “Were you injured in the passage way?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Was it a knife that injured you?” Answer: “Yes”
Question: “Did you die here?” Answer: “Yes” Mac gets a pain in her stomach again.
Question: “Did you die in the passage way?” Answer: “No”
Question: “Did you die in this room?” Answer: “Yes”

Conclusion
We had a good night here at Fort Amherst even though it was quiet at times and Yes I think we will return back here perhaps next year. We did get some evidence and a couple of really good EVP’s, as well as some photos. We fully understand that some of the sounds we heard could have been many things and we didn’t waste time posting loads of photos with orbs in. Many of the misty photo’s we had could well have been the damp weather conditions in the tunnels.
The photo’s we have put on the website are of possible captures of spirits or ghosts presents. There was also one thing that caught my ear as I was going through the recordings; Sue jokes about possibly seeing a hooded monk and Jim has contact with a monk earlier on in the investigation in exactly the same place. So was it really a monk Sue saw and not a shadow – we will let you decide.

Well said Mac...entertainment for the night, priceless!! Had a fantastic night with lots of laughs and got some activity, not so much in the tunnels, but in the communications rooms and Barracks....for me I experienced moving spirits by blasts of cold air around my face and body, this was backed up by the dowsing rods, activity within the communications rooms was also interested, especially responsive towards Sue as she has been in the military. Thought the Fort was a good location, would like to return maybe in the near future. Thanks again team for a brilliant night and well done everyone xx

What a great night thought it was a bit flat at first. Carol was brill, we got some activity in the tunnels when Sue started shouting orders, we could clearly hear footsteps, moved on to control room where Carol picked up some Ladies , she picked up on two ladies one called Jane who was an observer and Mavis who had a child with her who had died, Carol could see a package I had a feeling that the child was evacuated and had died and the package was returned this was confirmed by the rods. The scariest place I found was the back of the barracks where Carol picked up on Albert and Alfred. I felt that Albert was drawn to someone in the room that looked like his mother. Carol encouraged me to ask the question it was confirmed by the rods I asked him to point to the person, which it did. Got some really good responses could go on and on good night and great company.

We had a very good investigation last night at Fort Amherst, we all seemed to have some paranormal activity going on around us during the night, not the most active place we have been, but we did I feel get some good evidence, with some of the team experiencing happening to them for the first time. Would I go back there, well I wouldn’t say no, but it would have to be sometime away, and would I recommend the Fort, yes I would.
Many thanks to all team members for making it such a great night, can’t wait to hear if we caught anything on tape, we did see 3 full body apparitions which was seen by so many, the report should be on line in a couple of weeks.

I was very nervous about this location i have 2 say. We had something happen on all locations but for me the end of the caves both myself and Lyn had a strange experience that made us both leave and when we did a séance altogether in the control room when we picked up on a Jane who stood in front of me. I had some pains from a lady who lost a baby which was very strong and also a pain in my head and above my eye which seemed to burn. Janet later read a leaflet and in it, it said of a soldier who had been shot in the head. Was it this sole I’m not sure? Would I go back I’m not to sure, but as you all know I change my mind like the wind. A big thanks to the entertainment I have to say it was a brilliant night thanks team xx

A very intriguing venue that I was really looking forward to investigating. It was a little quiet in terms of paranormal activity, but we did manage to make contact with some spirits via the dowsing rods and Ouija board and you constantly felt as if you were being watched. We had some strange activity in the comms room where one particular clipboard started to swing on its own, and I had a personal first for me where the spirit of a teenage boy (Charlie) took my hand and led me away from the group to the corner of the room where my hand was then held up in the air. When Jim asked him to let me have my hand back I could then feel Charlie hugging me. Also caught some very interesting photographs that seem to show different figures. It did feel like a friendly place - I enjoyed the investigation and it is somewhere I would return to.

Nice location. I found the tunnels the most interesting. Lots of ice cold spots and things being picked up on the laser. Its probably the most active place that I have been to, as I saw things on the laser and shadows. There was a constant feeling that we were being followed. Great night and the team were on great form. I would probably go back again. x

Excellent venue well worth going. As for our team we only got a couple of things first was in the main tunnel and didn't get anything until we ask Sue to call out as she has had some army experience and when she asked to line up we heard a couple of footsteps. We repeated this several time and heard the same thing. Our next best experience was in the control room where we had 3 woman communicate with us. Then over in the bunk house where we had a gentleman come through on the rods and wanted to talk to Claire as she reminded him of his mother. Now we were all freezing cold and Claire was really warm when talking to him. Overall one of the best venues and we had a really great group.

I really enjoyed this location and experienced a lot of activity, but the most interesting was when I could clearly see three apparitions standing at the end of the tunnel this was also seen by Charlotte and Jim and was confirmed by the laser. All night there was the feeling of being watched and followed as we went around the fort. One of the bunk rooms in the barracks was quite active with many of us experiecing different things and a priest coming through Jim with a personal message for one of the group. During a seance in this room I was me aware of Jim and Jane asking me if I was ok, not sure what was happening there and a very young soldier taking hold of Kirsty and not wanting to let go. All in all a great night with a great team, always feel very priviledged to be allowed an insight into the world of spirit.

This was a superb location, although I thought there would be far more tunnels we could go down other then the ones we did the investigations in. Initially it did seem a little flat when we did our first vigil. On the upper levels I did experience something tug on my boots, or it maybe it was my imagination. We also heard some distinct footsteps when I started shouting out marching orders. Carol was superb and really encouraged us as a group to dig deep and search for the spirits amongst us. With the support from her, I believe the whole group really gelled, and as the night progressed we got more out of it and each group member really made an effort. A fantastic job by the whole team and a great atmosphere throughout the night. I would go back again if the teas and coffee's were free!! LOL Well done SouthWest London Paranormal.
